How to know the CPAP pressure from the APAP mode in AS10?

Postby Cantgettosleep » Tue Oct 22, 2024 3:19 pm
As the title says.
I'm using the APAP mode and want to change to CPAP (constant pressure), just to make a test.
How to know the CPAP pressure in a AS10?
I read the manual, but could not find the answer.
Thanks in advance.

Generally, we don't recommend tweaking (dial wingin') pressure settings without data.
So, if you want to do it the right way, download OSCAR and post a screenshot here (instructions in a thread near the top of the index page, plus we can help).
Or, get a free account at SleepHQ.com and paste the link to your charts here. This is actually easier to do and gives better information to us. However, lately, it has taken a long time for the initial upload of the data on your machine's SD card.
What are your current APAP settings? Do you know your 95% pressure for a typical night?

When you turn on the machine your pressure settings will show on the screen.

The answer is the pressure in the display screen, just set the full information to display when you turn on the machine, it doesn't need to go to the clinics options, if you are in doubt, read the clinicians manual.

That's not the question I am asking.

Oh, sorry if I don't understand your question, I'm not a native english speaker, so I had to go to google translator to understand "clue me in".
As for our doubt, I think is better a more knowledge member try to explain it to us, as I'm not sure if a have the answer anymore.
Good luck to us.

95% 16
99,5 18From those APAP settings, how do you determine what the CPAP settings should be?
You can't determine your optimal CPAP pressure from those numbers, and certainly not if you base them on a single night's data.
Here's what they mean:
- You spent 5% of the time at a pressure of 16
- You spent 0.5% of the time at a pressure of 18
- This does not include the time you were in ramp
If you want to know at which pressure you spent other parts of the night - you have to look at the way the pressure change throughout the night. You need OSCAR or sleepHQ for that.
We have the data for that nowadays and we should use it to manage our therapy.

The answer above from Chicagogranny is the place to start.
BTW, if you are just doing a one-night test, you could set the CPAP pressure at 15.0. But, that might not be the best answer long term. For long term, you need data analysis from OSCAR.
