Community energy projects, owned and controlled by the very people they serve, offer an equitable, sustainable solution. Through these initiatives, communities can create renewable energy microgrids, eliminating fuel poverty and helping the UK transition to Net Zero. Our Project Coordinator Danny Fay will be attending the Northern Powergrid Community Energy Conference in York next week. If you plan to be there and want to discuss how to cut costs, consumption and carbon be sure to see Danny! In the current energy system, generators sell their energy back to suppliers at rates two to three times lower than the end customer price. This significantly reduces profitability, making fewer projects economically viable, and provides little incentive for small-scale renewable energy schemes. In an era where energy security is paramount, communities are vulnerable, especially during peak demand periods and global uncertainty.#York #CommunityEnergy #UKEnergy

Looking forward to Solar & Storage Live next week in gorgeous Birmingham, where I'll be talking to businesses about what's happening in the Australian solar and storage sectors discussing opportunities for businesses in the Aussie market. For large scale stationery storage, the Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS) encourages new investment in renewable generation capacity and clean dispatchable capacity. The CIS will accelerate deployment of capacity in the Australian energy markets by reducing risks to investor.✍🏼 Following a tender process, six new projects were announced this month that will deliver 3,626 megawatt hours (MWh) of energy in South Australia and Victoria. The Australian Government's recently released National Battery Strategy identifyies four high-value strategic opportunities in Australia:🔋 Stationary storage - building Energy Storage Systems to firm renewable power generation in the national grid and for communities, businesses and homes.🔋 Provide battery active materials to the world by upgrading raw minerals into processed battery components to strengthen battery supply chains.💡 Leveraging our world-leading know-how to build safer and more secure batteries connected to the grid.🚛 Building batteries for our transport manufacturing industry, including heavy vehicle manufacturing. This morning's webinar from Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) on the new Battery Breakthrough Initiative was very exciting - this is the A$523.2 million government funded initiative to promote the development of battery manufacturing capabilities in Australia.👉🏼 See more here: https://lnkd.in/e4S8ZfETIf you want to know more about the above, and other opportunities in clean energy, I'm on the show app, so connect with me there and let's grab a coffee!☕ 🤝 🔋 ☕ 🤝 🌞 ☕ 🤝 🌞 ☕ 🤝☕ 🔋 🤝☕ 🤝 🌞 ☕ 🤝☕ 🔋 #trade #investment #innovation #researchanddevelopment

As a follow up to the awesome piece Laura wrote on this topic about six months ago (please check out the SolaREIT™ page), come and visit with Laura Klein! Solar and BESS developers have been hit hard by high dev capital costs. Many folks are working with SolaREIT™ to access capital that allows them to make payments on development spend such as panels, acquiring additional sites, engineering, consultants, etc. Of course you can also message me if you want to learn more!#solar#batterystorage#renewables#solarenergy

Australian Energy Week 2024 is only 3 months away and there are less than 15 exhibition booth spaces left! The reasons that Energy Week is attracting more exhibitors each year is that it has the highest quality audience. It's an audience full of energy industry executives that are actively looking for solutions to their big problems. Meaning our exhibitors get to engage with actual buyers and not just other salespeople. You can expect well over 1000 attendees representing Australia's major energy companies and large users, with companies already registered including:• ActewAGL Retail• AEMO• AGL• Ausgrid• CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy• CS Energy• Delta Electricity• Department for Energy and Mining• Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA)• Energy Australia• Energy QueenslandDownload the early confirmed attendee list: https://hubs.la/Q02qx6GK0With 3 months to go, we already have 400+ attendees signed up, that will be joining us across the 4 days in Melbourne. If you want to find out more, or get a sample of the attendees from 2023, contact Milad Etemadi at milade@questevents.com.au or Tashi Gazzard at tashig@questevents.com.au.
